Viele Wege führen zur Leber: Großes Organ mit großer Wirkung | Anatomie, Funktion, Krankheiten

Or: Where my liver used to be, there's now a minibar. So, unlike some other organs, the liver isn't entirely unknown. However, we don't really give the liver much thought. Do you really think about your liver when you eat, take medication, or drink alcohol? Our liver is always, really always, involved. And that's why it's one of the most misunderstood organs. We usually only realize what a healthy liver is when it starts to malfunction. Anatomy of the liver: The liver consists of four lobes, which you can see in this image. Here we have the large lobes: the right lobe (lobus dexter) on the right and the left lobe (lobus sinister) on the left. The right lobe is significantly larger. On the underside are the two smaller lobes, with the porta hepatis (port of the liver) between them. Besides being divided into lobes, the liver can also be further subdivided into eight segments, each fully functional and, in a sense, self-sufficient. Each segment has its own bile duct and blood vessels that supply and drain blood into it. Function of the Liver: The liver is our most important metabolic organ. This is evident from the fact that the liver is a real workhorse. The blood flow visible HERE results in approximately 2,000 liters of blood being pumped through the liver every single day. That's 1.4 liters per minute, which is equivalent to one of these 1.5-liter water bottles (have a water bottle ready). To filter, detoxify, and remove excess nutrients from this blood, 300 billion hepatocytes await their task in the liver. These are the small liver cells that cleanse the blood. But the liver can do much more. In addition to its filtering function, the liver also plays a crucial role in distributing the extracted nutrients. Depending on the current need, precisely the right amount of specific nutrients is gathered and released into the bloodstream. This includes hormones produced in the liver, especially growth hormones, which are essential for our bodies. We also absolutely need cholesterol for this. Although we obtain a small portion of our cholesterol from food, the majority is produced in the body, specifically in the liver. Liver Diseases: Therefore, it's understandable that liver dysfunction can cause far-reaching problems. Our bodies even benefit from the fact that the liver regenerates. This allows us to donate parts of the liver, and in the recipient's body, the liver immediately begins to regenerate. After just two months, half a donated liver has become a whole one again, almost making the problems disappear. Examples include hepatitis, fatty liver, and cirrhosis. ▬ About this channel ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ With "Video Visit Dr. Weigl," you've found a current and medically sound channel that explains topics related to pain, medicine, and health in an understandable way, based on facts, guidelines, and studies. ``` ▬ Even more videos ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Is there an optimal body weight?: https://bit.ly/Körpergewicht_Video BCAA - Do BCAAs help build muscle? https://bit.ly/BCAA_Video Too much protein - beware!: https://bit.ly/zuvielEiweiß_Video The best protein sources - plant-based vs. animal-based protein sources: https://bit.ly/BestenEiweißquellen_Video Fat burners from the refrigerator: https://bit.ly/Fatburner_Video ▬ Social Media ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ►Facebook: https://bit.ly/facebook_DrWeigl ►Website: https://doktorweigl.de ►Twitter: https://bit.ly/Twitter_DrWeigl ►Instagram: / doktorweigl ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Legal Notice / Disclaimer: These videos are for your information only and never replace personal advice, examination, or diagnosis by a licensed, qualified specialist.
