Banjo Care and Feeding: Fretboard Conditioning
Here's a short video all about how I clean and maintain the fingerboards on my banjos. Please consult your favorite luthier/banjo builder to make sure this is right for you! I'd recommend not using oil on fingerboards with pale woods (maple etc.). The oil I'm using is "Roche-Thomas Premium Fingerboard Oil", and is mostly mineral oil. I use "Gibson Pump Polish" on glossy finishes. With tung oil finishes I don't use polish of any kind. A dry flannel cloth does the trick! I'm not using sponsored links on purpose as my intent is not to sell you anything. I just want to share my processes with the banjo community at large.
