We had to leave Bangladesh... 🇧🇩 (here's why)

📍Dhaka, Bangladesh 🇧🇩 Save yourself a few quid on your next trip away by using the code JACKAYNSLEY on your @airalo_uk eSIM or https://try.airalo.com/JackAynsley ad The airport was packed. Leaving Dhaka wasn’t easy. That city got under our skin, the chaos, the kindness, the stories. Saying goodbye felt heavier than expected. No security at the entrance, just a slow-moving queue and the buzz of people going everywhere. But inside, each boarding gate had its own security check, something we hadn’t seen before. Oddly efficient. Kind of cool. We flew Thai Airways to Bangkok. Smooth flight, great crew, proper food. There was a delay, but they handled it well. Landed in Thailand for the sixth time, and it still hits with that same jolt of energy. Hard to believe our first trip here was back in 2018, fresh-faced and twenty, no clue what we were doing. Grabbed a ride straight to our hotel, £60 a night at Maison Hotel. We hadn’t clocked the area. Nana. One of Bangkok’s seedier corners. The kind of place where every second person’s over 60 and not here for temples. We ducked into the only place that looked remotely normal, a British pub. And there she was, the waitress in a Newcastle United shirt, smiling like she knew what we needed. She brought out a homemade Pad Kra Pao that nearly brought tears to the eyes. Perfect spice, perfect flavour. The chef was Thai, of course. English bar or not, the man knew what he was doing. A few cold Jack Daniels on the rocks later, we called it. Back to the room. Back to reality. Tomorrow, we move areas. Bangkok’s massive. We’ll find our spot. #bangladesh #travel #thailand
