We Arrived at Midnight to Wild Camp in Scotland 🇬🇧

We travelled over 10 hours by train from England to the Scottish Highlands to try wild camping near Fort William and Ben Nevis for the very first time, but our trip quickly turned into a disaster. After paying £250 for long-distance train travel across the UK, we arrived in Fort William just before midnight in heavy rain with no accommodation booked and no confirmed campsite. Our plan was to hike out and experience wild camping in Scotland properly, but in total darkness and worsening weather conditions, we struggled to find a safe place to pitch our tent. With limited phone signal, unfamiliar surroundings and no official campsite nearby, we were forced to make a last-minute decision that led to a sleepless night hiding out in the woods near a public footpath in the Scottish Highlands. This video shows the reality of UK train travel, arriving in a new location at night with nowhere to stay, and what can go wrong when you try wild camping in Scotland for the first time without proper preparation.
