Join me on a beautiful, sunny afternoon walk through Bydgoszcz, Poland! We are kicking off a brand-new June series by exploring two completely different sides of this incredible city. In this 4K POV walking tour, we start with a peaceful stroll along the historic Old Bydgoszcz Canal before teleporting straight into the vibrant architectural heart of the city center. Our walk begins at Wrocławska Street, immediately bringing us face-to-face with the impressive hydro-engineering of Śluza IV and V. As we follow the tranquil waters through the Planty nad Kanałem Bydgoskim, we are surrounded by lush, old-growth chestnut and oak trees lining the pathways, local cyclists, and the peaceful remnants of 18th-century lock mechanisms. Moving into the city center on Księdza Ludwika Sieńki Street, the atmosphere shifts dramatically. Passing the monumental Minor Basilica of St. Vincent de Paul, we stroll down the famous Aleja Ossolińskich, shaded by its majestic row of historic oak trees and flanked by elegant early 20th-century villas. As we approach Plac Weyssenhoffa and turn onto Aleje Adama Mickiewicza, we step into the elegant "Musical District" (Dzielnica Muzyczna). Keep an eye out for the stunning Art Nouveau tenement houses (kamienice) and the cultural ambiance that defines this area, right before we escape into the greenery of Park Jana Kochanowskiego to find the iconic Archer (Łuczniczka) statue.
