The Transpennine Route Upgrade is bringing electrification and increased linespeed and capacity to the railway line between York and Manchester via Huddersfield and Leeds. This video focuses on two major worksites within the £11.5 billion scheme. Firstly, it looks at the work at Colne Bridge Road, east of Huddersfield, where a new bridge with extra clearance is being built to replace the old listed bridge, which offers insufficient clearance for the overhead line equipment (OLE) needed for electrification to pass beneath.
