トゲウオ・ビオトープ　産卵編

There used to be a small stream at the edge of my garden, and water flowed nicely there, but for disaster prevention reasons, the water dried up, and now water no longer flows in the stream except during the rainy season or when there are long periods of rain, so I can no longer keep salmonid fish, which I loved. Since the pond would deteriorate if it wasn't filled with water, I tried keeping carp, goldfish, and medaka in it for a while, but although they survived due to the low water temperature, they couldn't reproduce. I started thinking, "Why not try keeping sticklebacks, which are cold-water fish?" and decided to tidy up the pond and turn it into a biotope. Since it's originally a villa area in the mountains, the pond was a place where frogs, snakes, and other aquatic insects would gather. I decided to release a stickleback, which I had previously kept in an aquarium for a photo shoot, into a large pond. I also purchased a three-spined stickleback, another attractive fish, and released it into the pond as well. Initially, they were wary and, due to the size of the pond, hardly ate any of the food I put in. However, with each subsequent release, they began to eat more, and the following year they even started spawning, and that brings us to the present. Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture
