In this video, we first take a beautiful circular hike around the Torre dei Scarperi with a view of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. We're in historic areas between the Landro and Fiscalina Valleys, reminiscent of a past of wars fought among those peaks. Events from over a hundred years ago are still clearly visible. We also carry with us an Italian Army K Ration that expired several years ago. Its expiration date is September 2015! We eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner exclusively using the ration we have with us. What I'm interested in understanding and demonstrating: how these food packs behave after several years of expiration. Do the matches still work? And the fuel? Has the food gone bad? In the years to come, it's best to be informed, experiment, be curious, and be prepared for anything.
