With freezing temperatures, heavy snow paths, and only our headlamps guiding the way, this turned into the ultimate test of endurance. Hello friends! 🙏 Before starting this thrilling journey of Sar Pass Trek, the most common question arises - "What to keep in the bag?" 🎒 Ultimate Packing List (Checklist) 1. Clothing (Layering is Key 🥶): T-shirts: 3-4 Quick-dry Full Sleeve T-shirts (avoid cotton during the trek). Pants: 2-3 comfortable trek pants (water-resistant is best). Warm Layers: 1 fleece jacket, 1 down jacket (heavy jacket), and 1 windcheater/raincoat (weather can change at any time). Innerwear: 3-4 pairs (be sure to keep 1 pair of thermal inners for the night). Socks: 3-4 pairs of sports socks + 1 pair of thick woolen socks for the night. 2. Footwear & Gear: Trekking Shoes: Good grip and ankle support (break them in first!). Slippers/Sandals: For walking around the campsite. Backpack: 50L to 60L backpack with poncho/rain cover. Daypack: 20L (if you're unloading your main bag). 3. Accessories & Personal Care: Headwear: Sun cap (for the sun) + Woolen cap/balaclava (for the cold). Hands: Waterproof/Windproof Gloves. Eyes: UV protection sunglasses (to prevent snow blindness). Utilities: Trekking poles (very helpful), headlamp/torch, 2 water bottles (thermal flask is better). Toiletry Kit: Sunscreen (SPF 50+), lip balm, moisturizer, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, and toothbrush/paste. 4. First-Aid & Medicines: Diamox (for altitude sickness - take only after consulting a doctor). Painkillers, Band-Aids, Mouth/Volini spray, ORS/Electral powder, and personal medications. ⚠️ Important Tips (Khas Baatein!) Fitness: Sir, there are no easy treks. Be sure to do at least 1 month of cardio and stamina building before you go. Hydration: Altitude sickness is caused by dehydration in the mountains. Drink 4-5 liters of water daily. Eco-Friendly Travel: Carry a small trash bag with you. It is our responsibility to keep the mountains clean. Leave No Trace!
