We Got Overconfident on a Difficult Jeep Trail

We got overconfident on a difficult Jeep trail near Phoenix, and this run through the east side of the Rolls OHV Area reminded us why solo off-roading requires more than just experience. This unnamed route includes rocky washes, steep climbs and descents, loose rock, tight turns, poor sightlines, and some incredible Sonoran Desert views. We knew the trail was rated difficult, but we still came into it too confident — and one steep, rutted hill climb showed us exactly why that was a mistake. In this video, we show you what the trail is really like, where it caught us off guard, and what we should have done differently. As usual, we ran it solo in our Jeep Rubicon, but solo does not mean careless. When you cannot clearly see your line, the smart move is to stop, get out, and use a spotter if you have one. This video will help you know what is ahead on the trail so you can run it safely and confidently.
