Leaving Mammoth Lakes Behind | Solo Miles on the Pacific Crest Trail (Day 57)

PCT Day 57 | Pacific Crest Trail 2026 Thru Hike After leaving Mammoth Lakes, one of his favorite trail towns so far, Neon heads back onto the Pacific Crest Trail for another 23.5-mile day through California’s beautiful Sierra Nevada wilderness. With Sputnik staying behind for a zero day and the rest of the tramily a few days back, today’s journey becomes a solo adventure. The day begins with a 3.5-mile hike on the Horseshoe Lake Trail before reconnecting with the PCT. Along the way, Neon crosses countless creeks, enjoys dry feet thanks to sturdy bridges, and takes in stunning mountain scenery before ending the day camped beside a peaceful alpine lake. 🥾 Day 57 on the PCT 📍 Leaving Mammoth Lakes 📍 Sierra Nevada, California 📍 20 miles hiked on the PCT (+3.5 to get on trail) 📍 920+ miles completed 🎯 Destination: Canada If you’re enjoying following Neon’s journey from Mexico to Canada, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and turn on notifications.
