Leaving Mammoth Lakes Behind | Solo Miles on the Pacific Crest Trail (Day 57)
PCT Day 57 | Pacific Crest Trail 2026 Thru Hike After leaving Mammoth Lakes, one of his favorite trail towns so far, Neon heads back onto the Pacific Crest Trail for another 23.5-mile day through California’s beautiful Sierra Nevada wilderness. With Sputnik staying behind for a zero day and the rest of the tramily a few days back, today’s journey becomes a solo adventure. The day begins with a 3.5-mile hike on the Horseshoe Lake Trail before reconnecting with the PCT.
