7. Etappe: „Alle haben sich lieb und wir fokussieren uns auf Racing“

In the current issue, Denk reports on the seventh stage of the 2026 Tour de France. "We saw a mass sprint in Bordeaux, which became apparent relatively early on. To be honest, I'm somewhat surprised by the passivity of some teams. In my opinion, any team without a contender for the overall classification and without an absolute top sprinter in their ranks should be taking significantly more risks," says the 52-year-old. "When we started with a wildcard entry in our early years, the Tour director, Christian Prudhomme, made it clear to me that he wanted to see something from us. He didn't expect victories, but he made it clear that we should be involved in shaping the race," Denk reports. The controversy surrounding Remco Evenepoel and Florian Lipowitz, however, has been put to rest. "That's no longer an issue for us. Everyone's on good terms, and we're focusing on racing," the team manager emphasizes. The final section covers the eighth stage, which will be ridden on Saturday. The race between Périgueux and Bergerac covers 180 kilometers. "I'm not sure if we'll see another mass sprint. I'd put the odds at 60 to 40," Denk concludes. Photo: IMAGO / Photo News
