Hey Silly Geese! I rewatched The Cat in the Hat so you don’t have to, and I’m still not convinced this movie was ever meant for children. I remembered this as a harmless, weird kids movie. What I forgot is that it’s actually about a six-foot-tall cat breaking into a house, psychologically tormenting two kids, committing several crimes, and then gaslighting everyone into apologizing to him. In this video I walk through the entire movie scene by scene, keep a running list of the Cat’s criminal charges, question the morals of every adult involved, and slowly realize this might be the most unhinged “family film” of the 2000s.
