L'uomo della torre Eiffel | 1949 | Mistero | Film thriller in italiano

The Man from the Eiffel Tower - French police inspector Maigret investigates the murder of a wealthy Parisian widow and her maid and ends up chasing the killer to the rafters of the Eiffel Tower. The Man from the Eiffel Tower (1949) Director: Burgess Meredith, Irving Allen, Charles Laughton Writer: Harry Brown, Georges Simenon Starring: Charles Laughton, Franchot Tone, Burgess Meredith Genre: Mystery, Thriller Country: United States, France Language: Italian Release Date: February 4, 1950 (United States) Filming Location: Paris Studios Cinéma, Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, France (Studio) Synopsis: In Paris, Johann Radek, a down-and-out medical student, is paid by Bill Kirby to kill his wealthy aunt. A knife grinder is the prime suspect, but Radek continues to provoke the police until they realize he is the murderer. The police and Inspector Maigret are drawn into a chase through the streets and rooftops of Paris, and finally to the rafters of the Eiffel Tower. Reviews: Franchot Tone plays Radek, a multifaceted psychopath who dresses like Charles Baudelaire in postwar Paris. He sits at the Café Deux Magots eating yogurt until the day he is inspired to kill for profit. When he pins the crime on the unfortunate Burgess Meredith (Heurtin), Charles Laughton (Inspector Maigret) fights to save the innocent man. Adapted from Georges Simenon's 1931 novel, A Battle of Nerves (La Tête d'un homme), the 1948 film depicts a post-Nazi Paris, with all its splendid architecture intact, reviving its passion for fashion, art, food, and love. The exterior shots read like a mini travelogue, offering glimpses of the New Wave just around the corner. Our attention is divided between the sights of Paris of yesteryear and a slow-paced chase bromance between two of Hollywood's greatest actors. The film is compelling both as a historical document and as a haunting portrait of a murderer obsessed with the policeman on his trail. There's so much authenticity in every frame, so many nuances in the performances. Viewers expecting an action film, or a Hitchcock-esque style, might be bored by this war of attrition between Maigret and Radek, but lovers of Paris will appreciate the thrill of immersing themselves in the city. written by “heartfield-1” on IMDb.com Also known as (AKA): (original title) The man on the Eiffel Tower Australia The man on the Eiffel Tower Austria Der Mann vom Eiffelturm Brazil Fugitive from Guilhotina Brazil Fugitivo da Guilhotina (O Homem da Torre Eiffel (alternative title) Brazil O Fugitivo da Guilhotina (alternative title) Canada The Man on the Eiffel Tower (English) Denmark Manden på Eiffeltårnet Finland Mies Eiffeltornissa France L'homme de la tour Eiffel Greece O anthropos tou pyrgou tou Eiffel (transliterated title) Greece Ο άνθρωπος του πύργου του Άιφελ Hungary Férfi az Eiffel tornyon Italy The Man on the Eiffel Tower Mexico The Man on the Eiffel Tower Norway The Man on the Eiffel Tower (video title) Norway The Man on the Eiffel Tower Poland The Man on the Eiffel Tower Portugal The Man on the Eiffel Tower Romania The Man on the Eiffel Tower Singapore The Man on the Eiffel Tower (English) Soviet Union The Man on the Eiffel Tower (Russian) Spain The Man on the Eiffel Tower Sweden The Man on the Eiffel Tower United Kingdom The Man on the Eiffel Tower United States The Man on the Eiffel Tower West Germany The Man on the Eiffel Tower Yugoslavia Čovek na Ajfelovom tornju (Serbian) ✘ Website: https://www.artflix.info SUPPORT US! ✘ Subscribe - https://bit.ly/3OnLVd2 MORE FILMS! ► Film Noir: https://bit.ly/3F8Obz3 ► Classic Films: https://bit.ly/3JVwTsQ ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/3JSCgJv #classicfilms #filmnoir #oldmovies ············································································ COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed.
