This film features a wealth of historical figures, from Molly Brown to Herbert Pitman. Even Edith Russell and her lucky toy pig have a scene. The film follows (mostly) Officer Lightoller. I'm pretty sure the brief scene with Colonel Arthur Godfrey Peuchen and Officer Lightoller is exactly the same as the one in the book. Phillips, Bride, Guggenheim, Ida and Isidor Strauss, Colonel Gracie, Edith Evans, etc., all make appearances. I love how they filmed the struggle to maneuver the capsized Collapsible Lifeboat B. Officer Lightoller doing his best to keep it afloat and save the men clinging to it. Bride, Gracie, and others carefully maintaining their balance on the capsized lifeboat. Chief Baker Charles Joughin, half in the water, clings to the hand of one of the survivors standing in the lifeboat. It's a truly impressive scene. I applaud this film for striving to be so historically accurate.
