Death of Youth - Fix Your Heart or Die - Engineer Records
'Fix Your Heart or Die' is the first single from Death of Youth's forthcoming album 'Nothing Is The Same Anymore' (out 16th February 2025). The song is about trans rights and how certain governments have created a moral panic surrounding the transgender community in order to create a scapegoat that distracts from their own failings. It tackles the absurdity of having to debate someone's right to exist and brushing off bigotry as a mere 'difference of opinion'. Death of Youth are an Emo influenced Hardcore band from London who started as a bedroom project in 2018 before reforming as a full band in late 2024. Death of Youth is: Rob David: Vocals Joe Arnold: Guitar Carlos Zelaya: Bass William Page: Drums Lyrics by Rob David Track produced by Michael Kew and Rob Parnell Directed by Michael Kew Cinematography by Will Coddington Edited by Michael Kew Big thanks to the Etcetera Theatre, Mark Underwood from Drum Plan, Euan Brook, Jae Page, and Riley Page Instagram: @deathofyouthukhc Facebook: DeathofYouthUK Twitter: @DeathofYouthUK Band: deathofyouthuk.bandcamp.com Label: https://www.engineerrecords.com 'Fix Your Heart or Die' Lyrics: Searching for a scapegoat as the ground crumbles beneath your feet, Whipping up a panic over a group just trying to live their lives Since when were human rights a matter of opinion? The right to exist shouldn't be up for debate (x2) How dare you act so righteous while fighting to erase another's rights You may try and play the victim, but we all see through your transparent façade. Why is it so hard to just let them go about their lives? Why should their desire to live authentically be scrutinised? This isn't the first time we've fought for the rights of a community, We've won this fight before, so you'll always be on the wrong side of history You'll always be on the wrong side of history (x2)
