Good education serves two purposes: the future of individual students and the continuity and renewal of society. Therefore, students learn both responsible self-determination (thinking, acting, and justifying themselves) and responsible co-determination (making choices together about social issues). To achieve this, five main conditions apply, each with concrete questions for practice: Learning what is valuable: focusing on the core, seeing connections, relevance for now and the future. Opportunity to learn: clear goals and alignment of activities/assessments, clarity about expectations, sufficient time and resources. Ability to learn: appropriate challenge, activation of prior knowledge/thinking, targeted feedback. Desire to learn: interest, confidence in one's own abilities, appropriate freedom of choice. Safe learning: experiencing respect, understanding, and care. The outer triangle emphasizes that teacher, student, and learning material are embedded in larger wholes (such as the school team, social groups, and the curriculum). These conditions help clarify expectations and formulate targeted reflection questions.
