Lesson 55 - Logic and Language - Separating Quantities from Associated Accidents and Substances.
We are refining the intellect to be more precise and thoughtful when considering a substance, or describing a quantity, whenever we separate the quantity ipsa (itself) from whatever else that comes with it. Thus if a man is six feet tall, we recognise that the man and the six feet are actually two different things. If an action takes 10 hours to perform, then the action, the substance performing the action, and the 10 hours, are all recognised as separate things. There is great utility in this skill and intellectual instinct, but there is also a necessity to develop it. This corresponds to lessons 6.11-6.12 of the book found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/176472531X Sīs semper fortis in opere tuō!
