I Thought I'd Fixed It!
Last time I managed to get the 1922 Ner-a-Car running for the first time in many years. It wasn't running particularly well, but at least it ran! In this episode I try to get to the bottom of the problem by experimenting with a different carburettor, borrowed from an old Seagull outboard motor. With some encouraging early results, I then set about fabricating a completely new exhaust system and repairing the cracked cast exhaust manifold using TIG brazing. Everything seemed to be heading in the right direction... Unfortunately, old machines have a habit of keeping you humble. Join me as I continue the restoration of this remarkable and unusual 100-year-old motorcycle.
