Quick & Easy Make Curtains from Vintage French Fabric & Handmade Lace. They Look SO good.

I bought a linen sheet at an antique shop, it was still in the original wrapping and had never been used. The colour was a little dark but I've learnt that these old French sheets get paler with each wash. I soaked it in oxi stuff for a couple of days, popped it in the machine on a hot wash and that did the trick. I cut the sheet to the correct length and used the already hemmed top of the sheet for the bottom hemline of the curtains. The hand made lace was originally a table cloth with tassels each side, I cut it in half and added it to the top of each curtain. Unfortunately it wasn't quite long enough so I had to go in search of something to fill the space. Colour match was important and it took a few days to find anything that was close, the Crochet doilies got the job because of the colour match. It took a while to choose the best position and fiddle with the small pieces, but eventually it all came together. I was determined to use only vintage textiles and finding tape to go along the top edge had been on my mind for a while. A minimum width of 2.5cm would be ideal but all I could find was 1.5cm wide, so I made it work.
