この世はすべてが逆さまだった【ブッダが教えてくれた事】
In Buddhism, there is a phrase called "impermanence of all things." "Shogyo" means "all things." Because it uses the character "gyo," you might not think it means "all things," but that is what "shogyo" means. "Mujō" means "not constant" or "not continuing." "Impermanence of all things" is the teaching of Buddha that nothing in this world lasts forever, that everything in this world is subject to change, and that not a single thing remains the same forever. This teaching of "impermanence of all things" is one of the Three Dharma Seals of Buddhism. The Three Dharma Seals are teachings unique to Buddhism that are not found in other religions, three teachings that can be said to be distinctive of Buddhism. As the teaching of "impermanence of all things" is one of these, it is an extremely important teaching. The fact that nothing lasts means that the smartphone or computer you are using right now will eventually break down, and that the room you are occupying right now will also collapse someday. A major earthquake might cause a room to collapse all at once, but even if that doesn't happen, it will change little by little. The walls will gradually become duller, the windows will become dirty, the carpet will become stained, and so on. Yesterday's room will be different from today's. The room you are in now may not seem different to us from yesterday, but that's just how it appears. In reality, it is constantly changing, moment by moment. Imagine walking into this room for the first time in 20 or 30 years. It will have changed so much that you'll be amazed and exclaim, "Is this that room? I'm nostalgic, it's gotten so old." We see it every day, so it may not seem like it has changed, but in reality it has. Even the sun is impermanent. Nothing lasts forever. It is said that it will reach the end of its lifespan in about 6 billion years. Come to think of it, today's sun seems a little older than yesterday's... No, I don't think so, but that's just because I don't think so. Even though it may seem like nothing has changed between the sun of yesterday and the sun of today, it is actually changing. It's the same with people. When you meet a friend you haven't seen in 20 years at a class reunion, you might think, "They've changed," "They've gotten older," or "They've gotten fat." Of course, you don't say those things; you just say, "They haven't changed." Appearance changes, but in some cases, even more so: the way you think, your demeanor, your behavior, and so on. To people who see you every day, like family, you change gradually, so you don't seem surprised and say, "Wow, they've changed," but that's only because you see them every day. In reality, you're changing every day, every moment. Health is also impermanent. Cancer screening is recommended from your 50s onwards, because that's the age at which you become susceptible to cancer. As you get older, your organs gradually become older and weaker, and your immune system weakens. One day, we suddenly receive a notice to re-examine at our health checkup and are told that we have a malignant tumor. We may think that we've just been diagnosed with cancer, but in fact, cancer cells are generated in the human body every day, battling with immune cells. As immune cells weaken with age, they begin to lose to cancer cells, and the cancer begins to invade the body until it grows large enough to be detected through an exam. We forget the truth of the impermanence of all things and believe that "there is permanence" and that things will never change, until one day we are suddenly told that this belief was wrong and we are flustered, thinking, "No way!" - that's the reality of our situation. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Click here for the official "Understanding Buddhism" LINE. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ・Video and column updates ・Mini-sections explaining Buddhist terminology in simple terms ・LINE friend-only events, etc. ▼Click here for the official "Understanding Buddhism" LINE. https://lin.ee/GbzwYBX ----------------------------------------------------------------- Click here for the 20-part free email course. ----------------------------------------------------------------- https://peraichi.com/landing_pages/vi... ↑The free email course reveals the answer to the "meaning of life" taught in Buddhism.
