#chinatravel : Tax refund made easier for overseas passengers at Shanghai Pudong airport

International air travelers departing from Shanghai can now apply for tax refunds using a new intelligent self-service terminal, which enables real-time verification of their applications. According to Shanghai Customs, passengers who shop at duty-free stores within the departure area of Terminal 2 at Shanghai Pudong International Airport can complete their tax refund applications at this terminal. Customs officers will remotely verify the application details, including shopping invoices and personal identification, in real time. This system allows travelers to complete the entire tax refund process without leaving the departure area. Previously, passengers had to make a round trip between the departure area and the exit declaration counter to finalize their refunds.
