Russian Arrivals Surge in Shanghai as China Extends Visa-Free Policy to 2027

Shanghai airports have seen a major surge in Russian arrivals as China has extended its visa-free policy for Russian citizens holding ordinary passports until December 31, 2027. Under this rule, eligible visitors can enter China for up to 30 days without a visa for tourism, business, family visits, or cultural exchanges. A total of over 300,000 Russian travelers entered through Shanghai as of May 21, representing a 67.8 percent increase compared to the previous year. More than 90 percent of these visitors utilized the visa-free policy. To handle the high volume of travelers, Shanghai now deploy more Russian-speaking officers on-site, allow travelers to complete entry cards online, and operate a 24-hour immigration hotline. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
