阪急淡路駅 Vol.57/Part.2/後編|GW明けはここから開始、下新庄~柴島駅 高架化工事の全貌進捗 4K60p | Awaji Station Construction 2026-05

Filming Date: May 5, 2026 – "Children's Day" I ventured out to film under a stunning, cloudless blue sky, blessed with perfect May weather. In the latter half of this major holiday period, I am excited to bring you the most vivid footage available of the latest progress around Awaji Station, where I continue my fixed-point observations. Recently, on May 2nd, a significant earthquake (M5.7 / intensity 5-lower) struck with its epicenter in Nara Prefecture. Even here near Awaji Station, we felt tremors around intensity 3, which has once again heightened our awareness of disaster prevention. In this video, please pay close attention to how the "highly earthquake-resistant" elevated tracks are steadily taking shape—a crucial infrastructure development for future safety. As part of my pursuit for even higher video quality (4K60p 10bit), the resulting data size has become immense. As an experiment, I have divided this update into two parts: Part 1 (First Half) and Part 2 (Second Half). Both were filmed on the same day, and Part 1 is already live, so please be sure to check that out as well! I will continue to capture and document these projects, so please "Subscribe" to the channel so you don’t miss out! I also welcome your comments on interesting points in the video, future filming requests, or just your general impressions. Your "Likes" are the greatest motivation for me to create the next video! Thank you so much for your continued support and for watching! This massive project to elevate the Hankyu Kyoto and Senri Lines began in 2008. After repeated delays and the impact of the pandemic, construction has now spanned 18 years, missing its original goal of completion before the 2025 Osaka Expo. I initially started filming thinking it would be finished soon, but the project’s extension has led this series all the way to Vol.57. Historically, this area was plagued by traffic congestion and accidents at 17 railroad crossings. Upon completion, these 100-year-old crossings will disappear, making the city safer and quieter. The highlight is the viaduct’s height, reaching approximately 30 meters (the height of a 10-story building)—a first in Japan. Building such a "Giant Fortress" in a densely populated area without ever stopping train operations is a marvel of next-generation engineering that has silenced all skeptics. Witness the transformation of a century-old railway into a future-ready landmark.
