Solo Retcon D-04 6-Stage Facility (No Commentary) | "Mighty Base" | DRG: Rogue Core

Absolutely my most chaotic run. There were times where I couldn't tell what was happening so I just tried my best to hit things with my pickaxe. There were some disastrous occurances, such as an expenite vault going into overtime at the elevator, getting grabbed by a worm and only being saved because of Cooper (you deserve a medal, Cooper), both sentinel specters summoning a swarm because I couldn't catch them in time with how big and weird the caves were, and a few mishaps with the controls where I would try to activate rewind and then accidentally cancel it when I try to swing my pickaxe (still a major design flaw in my opinion.) However, the run was kept alive by a plethora of melee perks; big thanks to three stacks of Vampire, two stacks of Defensive Fighting, and Poison Aura for keeping me alive. This was by far one of the most fun runs I've ever done, and I would highly recommend trying out melee Retcon if you ever get the chance. Random things: 1. The combo of Poison and Fire damage is called Flashover, which is a combustion that damages enemies in a small area and leaves sticky flames on the ground. This was being repeatedly triggered by Poison Aura and the legendary fire damage bonus I grabbed for Cooper. 2. Bastion worked surprisingly well in a melee build. There was an expenite lockbox event where I blocked off the edgestalkers' sightline with platforms and then just stood my ground melee-ing anything that got close, and Bastion was a major blessing during that. 3. Counter works against ranged enemies! Sometimes distant edgestalkers would be randomly highlighted, and I think it's because I was hit by one of their projectiles during Defensive Fighting/Bastion's block uptime, activating Counter. Counter does melee damage, which in turn applied Exposing Strike and highlighted + weakened them. Very cool interaction. 4. Melee-ing the Gootorak worked out better than I expected, even with how much it backed up while I was smacking it. 5. HE Grenade is great. That is all. 6. Weakpoint stuff actually works out nicely in melee builds, since most melee enemies will be up close presenting their lovely craniums for you to smash. I almost grabbed Snapfire Extraction because of this, but I already had enough healing from Sweet Surrender and Vampire. 7. I did not know you could find two expenite geodes in the excavation event. Maybe I will rank this one a little higher on my list. Thanks for watching!
