Danish M113 versions - The A1, G3, G4 - M113 APC - Schützenpanzer M113
The first M113s were purchased for the Danish army in 1964 and over time, approximately 680 M113s have been purchased. It has a crew of 2 men, a driver and a commander/gunner, and has room for an additional 10 infantrymen. In the Danish version, it is equipped with a 12.7 mm TMG (heavy machine gun). The M113 is built of aluminum, which provides a number of the same qualities as steel, but reduces weight. This means, among other things, that it can be transported by air. The PMV is powered by a 5.2 liter V6 engine from Detroit Diesel, which allows the vehicle to transport a large load over land. The M113 has a range of 480 km and a top speed of 65 km/h.
