¿QUIÉN ERES? (Sigmund Freud) - Yo, Ello y Superyó en la Teoría PSICOANALÍTICA de la PERSONALIDAD
Sigmund Freud has been praised with epithets such as genius, creator, inspiration, master, and, at the same time, insulted with cries of autocrat, plagiarist, and charlatan. However, few doubt that this human being, however controversial he may have been, has stirred passions. This documentary examines the ideas that this influential Austrian physician and neurologist expressed regarding his psychoanalytic theory of personality, beginning with the tripartite structure of the psychic apparatus in the first topic (conscious, preconscious, and unconscious) and its subsequent instances in the second topic (id, ego, and superego). ⌚ Timeline: 00:00-02:46 - Introduction 02:46-08:37 - The Psychic Apparatus 08:37-13:09 - The Id 13:09-16:47 - The Superego 16:47-24:08 - The Ego 24:08-31:12 - Freud's Legacy 31:12-32:20 - Conclusion 🎙️ Support the channel ► / ramtalks 🤝 You can also support the channel via: Paypal: paypal.me/ramtalks Bitcoin: 1J8tdVXCNGRmhX1AXE43ELrocN3f41kd47 Ethereum: 1LuaK9b8hRf9w4a8dwgYxhStvH9rWX6g2v 📖 Recommended books by Sigmund Freud ► https://amzn.to/3gubSHI https://amzn.to/358JSnI https://amzn.to/3cB3HIx https://amzn.to/2RPcWOk Hey! In particular, there is no shortage of detractors of the notion that the psyche is divided into these three components. Thus, the most notable and controversial problem in Freud's work is that his work was not guided by the scientific method, according to which hypotheses formulated based on observation are discarded or retained when subjected to a measurable, reproducible, repeatable, falsifiable, and peer-reviewed experimentation process. Most Freudian theories are based on observations, speculations, or guesses that are accepted as valid without prior testing or control. Karl Popper himself observed that Sigmund Freud's theories were in fact unfalsifiable and, therefore, it was possible to reinterpret the evidence to maintain his initial hypotheses despite the lack of empirical support, although other authors argued that his main theoretical framework could be proven false. In his defense, it should be noted that the Austrian lacked many of the tools we now have to carry out scientific experiments in psychology. Furthermore, Popper categorized psychoanalysis as a pseudoscience in his critique, but he did not suggest that it was irrational, much less that it lacked added value. All in all, does psychoanalytic therapy really work? Yes, there is evidence supporting its effectiveness in treating certain symptoms of some mental disorders, but it is nowhere near as robust compared to other more cutting-edge therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, functional analytic psychotherapy, or dialectical behavior therapy. This explains why not many psychoanalytic techniques are used today by most mental health professionals. However, their limited explicit applicability does not mean that their implicit legacy is also irrelevant; rather, just the opposite is true: even with their technical limitations, the author's imagination in proposing new hypotheses and putting forward approaches that no one had conceived until then has proven extremely useful. Without going any further, Sigmund Freud's most important gift to neuroscience is called the unconscious. Eric Kandel, neurologist and Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, confessed in his book The Age of Insight (2012) that his contributions regarding mental processes that escape our immediate reach are diverse and substantial.
