What is Demand Planning? Demand planning is a process that attempts to predict the company's future demand as realistically as possible. Demand is everything the market will want from us, unlike sales; the difference between the two is potential sales. This process relies on two main pillars: Statistics and Collaboration. In the first, we use statistical and mathematical tools to understand past demand and extrapolate it into the future. In the second, we add relevant information to the "cold" statistical numbers that should influence demand, such as the launch of a marketing campaign, new products, increased competition in certain SKUs...
