City Power losing game against illegal connections
City Power’s action against illegal electricity connections in Johannesburg is continuing. The utility was in the Crown Mines informal settlement today, removing hundreds of metres of illegal cabling. Could today’s action have been prompted by speculation around the cause of the Marshalltown building fire? Meanwhile, the utility could also be heading towards a turf war between informal settlement dwellers and the surrounding business communities. eNCA reporter Hloni Mtimkulu was in the area.
