If The Lord Wills

James 4:15 "Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” I've got calendars covered in ink, Deadlines stacked higher than I can think, Maps of tomorrow spread out on the floor, Still I keep pounding on a locked door. Every backup plan, every escape, Every route drawn out just in case, Trying to carry a world that's not mine, Calling it wisdom while losing my mind. What if the fear ain't coming from fate? What if it's me trying to take Your place? If the Lord wills, I'll take the next breath. If the Lord wills, I'll walk where He says. All of my castles, All of my schemes, Fall at the feet Of the King I need. Tomorrow was never mine to hold. My life is a vapor, A story You wrote. If the Lord wills... If the Lord wills... I called it planning, You called it pride. I called it caution, You saw inside. I wanted answers before the road, Wanted guarantees before I'd go. But You keep teaching my restless soul That faith ain't control. Faith lets go. The weight gets lighter when I finally see, The throne of the universe isn't for me. Who told me I could carry tomorrow? Who told me I could conquer time? The One who numbers every sparrow Already holds this life of mine. The future isn't in my hands. The future never slipped from Yours. So here I stand, Open hands, Not my will anymore. If the Lord wills, I'll live and move. If the Lord wills, I'll follow through. Not by my power, Not by my sight, But by the Shepherd Who leads my life. The mist will fade, The years will fly, But Your faithfulness Will never die. If the Lord wills... I will follow. If the Lord wills... I am Yours. I don't know what tomorrow holds... But I know who holds tomorrow.
