GÖTA-Kanal - unterwegs mit der "FeO"

This is an older film (DVD), but has been updated in 2023 as a remake. This personalized cruise not only narrates the journey, but also offers practical tips and suggestions for cruising sailors to experience the 64 locks as a mini-adventure. The film will encourage and motivate some to follow suit, while for others, it will reawaken old memories of their own cruises. The "FeO," a Hallberg Rassy 29, spent ten weeks and 1,300 nautical miles sailing around southern Sweden. The film chronicles the journey via Fehmarn, Stralsund, the Greifswalder Botten, Rügen, and Bornholm. Captivating images of the archipelago of Karlskrona, the Kalmar Strait, and the dream destination of the Eastern Archipelago follow, before a detailed documentary section describes Sweden's "Blue Ribbon," the Göta Canal. Interesting footage of the lock-up makes up the main part, before heading home via Lake Vänern and Gothenburg. In short: Sweden fans will get their money's worth.
