The journey begins in Rome/Fiumicino – and soon leads away from the hustle and bustle, into a boundless world where nature and freedom set the pace. For weeks, you'll be right there on board the "Abyss" – far removed from ports, schedules, and crowded hotspots. Instead, my unique approach shapes the voyage: "tactics." A way of traveling that allows you to move freely, independently, and in harmony with the wind, weather, and nature. The route leads along the wild coasts of northern Sardinia – to where pristine landscapes and secluded anchorages can still be found. The film impressively demonstrates that it's still possible today to travel beyond the crowds – if you're willing to adapt and forge new paths. Whether in strong winds, challenging conditions, or quiet nights at anchor: instead of boring harbors, the focus is on direct, uninterrupted experiences. You dive right in – for example, to check the anchor at a depth of 11 meters – and gain rare insights into the interplay between boat, human, and the forces of nature. Underwater, another layer of the journey unfolds: alongside fascinating images, the fragile side of the Mediterranean becomes visible. Changes that often remain hidden come into focus here – quietly, yet powerfully. "Impossible is nothing" – with this attitude, they improvise, repair, and sail on. Self-sufficiency isn't just a concept here, but a lived reality. And despite all the isolation, there's still room for encounters: with people, landscapes, and special moments that carry the film. Created over two years, the film follows a project that refused to be stopped by external circumstances – and in doing so, continually opened up new perspectives. It's astonishing how much life can fit on 28 feet: a dive compressor, multiple sets of diving equipment, camera gear, a dinghy – and, again and again, family.
