Passport to History: Mission San Jose
A new historical documentary for Mission San Jose in Fremont, California, the 14th in the chain of California's 21 historic missions, founded between 1769 and 1823. Mission San Jose was founded on June 11, 1797. In June 2022, it celebrated its 225th anniversary. This new documentary, created and produced in time for this special anniversary, is now played daily in the mission's museum for visitors, tourists and schoolchildren. The documentary, which replaced a 1997 documentary about the mission, will be played in the mission's museum for years to come. Funding for the 2022 documentary was provided by a grant from the Native Daughters of the Golden West. The documentary premiered on the first day of Founders Day Weekend, kicking off a three-day celebration. As a Fremont native and one who grew up in the city's Mission San Jose District, Old Mission San Jose will always have a special place in my heart and in my life. It was an honor to create and produce this documentary. Visit Old Mission San Jose! The historic California mission is located at: 43300 Mission Blvd. (at Washington Boulevard) Fremont, CA 94539 This 2022 documentary is played daily in the Mission museum for all visitors.
