Interviewed by Tom Yamashita on 2017-08-28 in Mountain View, CA X8312.2018 © Computer History Museum This oral history records Professor Bogy’s contributions in three areas: the establishment of a very successful Computer Mechanics Laboratory at UC Berkeley, a joint university-industry research center; his research on HDD related topics especially in the areas of tribology, head dynamics and simulations and development of various measurement techniques related to head disk interface; and educating many students that went into the HDD industry to make key contributions to the HDD technology.
