A blast from the past - shrink plastic! Who remembers?

Hi and welcome back to our You Tube channel. In this video we return to an old technique using shrink plastic. Also known as "shrinkles". In this technique, you stamp (or draw) onto a special piece of plastic film, which is then heated using a heat gun, oven or microwave. This causes the plastic film to shrink to 1/7 of its original size. You can get the plastic in lots of different forms - including clear, white and glitter. In this video we use the Wild Bunch and stamp using (R) Staz-On ink onto the rough side of the plastic. I pre-cut the plastic pieces by punching with a 1 3/8" circle punch. The circle shape helps the image to shrink evenly. I using Blends pens to colour the images before shrinking. One thing to remember is to punch a hole (if required) before shrinking - otherwise you will need a drill to make the hole afterwards. These are great for making little charms and miniatures to add to your cards. Have a go! I bought these sheets from Amazon, but you can also try your local hobby/craft shop.
