Glenn Woodsworth: Collecting Malcolm Lowry - An Obsession That Never Ends | '22 Lecture Series
Glenn Woodsworth will speak about his passion for collecting books by and about Malcolm Lowry, probably one of the more difficult and least read of major 20th century novelists. Glenn will discuss why he collects Lowry, some of the people who have influenced and helped him, and various literary and personal byways into which this collection has led him. Glenn will also look at a few of the written, musical, artistic, and other weird and quirky works that are tributes to Lowry or have been profoundly influenced by him, all illustrated by items from his own collection. Glenn Woodsworth is a semi-retired geologist and mountaineer. He began collecting books in his teens with the Ace Doubles science fiction paperbacks. Now he collects Malcolm Lowry, mission press imprints, mountaineering, and material on bookseller William Hoffer. With his wife, Joy, their Tricouni Press has published a dozen or so books, all of which have a British Columbia connection.
