What I Bring on Day Hikes in Japan

If you're out all day and you're anything like me, you'll want 2.5 liters or more. Also- I cannot overstate the usefulness of the YAMAP app on your smartphone. The offline maps, distances, information on bathrooms and water sources, etc. etc. are just invaluable! And it's free!
