✨ Visual and Musical Literacy ✨ We are three teachers—specializing in Special Education, Speech and Language Therapy, and Music—united by the desire to share our teaching methodology with our students, their families, and other professionals. Today we want to share with you our social story, "I'm Going to the Doctor," adapted with pictograms to help children anticipate and understand some of the actions that occur when we go to a doctor's appointment. Through clear images, pictograms, and simple language, we present common situations step by step, such as waiting in the waiting room, entering the examination room, greeting the doctor, listening to their heartbeat, opening their mouth, and having their temperature taken. In this way, students can better understand what will happen, feel more secure, and approach this moment with greater peace of mind. The goal of this resource is to reduce the fear and anxiety that often arise when going to the doctor, promoting anticipation, understanding of routines, and the development of communication skills. We hope this social story can be useful both in the classroom and at home, and that it helps our little ones experience doctor visits with more calm and confidence.
