An own goal by Jano ter Horst provided Bochum's temporary equalizer. Münster is now unbeaten in three league matches and celebrated their second consecutive win. "For both goals, I just took a few shots and both balls flew in quite nicely. So today, I think I can be quite satisfied," analyzed the Münster player who scored twice, rather matter-of-factly. The home side got off to a better start and had the first chance of the game after just two minutes through Francis Onyeka. Preußen Münster goalkeeper Johannes Schenk, however, was alert. VfL Münster tried to take control of the game, but Münster managed to keep it balanced and almost took the lead after 13 minutes. Marvin Schulz's shot, however, went just wide. Otherwise, the game was mostly played between the penalty areas. In the 27th minute, however, Münster's Schulz had an idea. With a clever through ball, he sent Mees down the left flank into a one-on-one with Felix Passlack. The Münster player cut inside and gave Timo Horn in the VfL goal no chance with a powerful shot into the far corner – 1-0 to the visitors. Münster remained the more active side even after taking the lead. In the 37th minute, Oliver Batista Meier had a chance to double Preußen's lead, but his shot from 20 meters went just wide. Bochum continued to press forward, but lacked the necessary cutting edge – until the 43rd minute. Then, Passlack suddenly appeared on the right wing. With a sharp cross, he looked for the onrushing Philipp Hofmann, but ter Horst got there first and inadvertently bundled the ball over his own line. Referee Felix Prigan initially ruled it offside, but after reviewing the video footage, he allowed the goal. How did Münster react to this setback just before halftime? Quite well, as it turned out shortly after the break. Mees received the ball in midfield and suddenly found himself unmarked. 25 meters from goal, he cut inside unchallenged and fired a shot past Horn, finding the net off the right post to give Münster the lead once again (49'). The goal had an immediate impact on VfL Münster. They weathered a brief period of pressure from Bochum, and then the game settled into a lull. Münster defended with discipline, and Bochum offered little to no attacking threat. Although Bochum increased the pressure in the closing stages, Münster's victory was never truly in doubt. Bochum's best chance of the second half fell to Onyeka, who, as at the start of the match, was denied by Schenk. Preußen Münster coach Alexander Ende called the final stages a "heart-stopping finish" and praised his team's "great performance." Bochum's goalkeeper Timo Horn commented: "I think we played really well up to the edge of the penalty area, but then the decisive moment has to come (...) if we don't play cleanly and make technical errors like that, we can play any system in the world, and we still won't be successful." His coach, Dieter Hecking, appeared visibly annoyed after the game: "We had obviously envisioned things differently. Regardless of three defeats after four games, this isn't what we expect from ourselves. Therefore, this is a huge setback for everything." Starting lineups: Bochum: T. Horn - Morgalla, Vogt, Wittek - Passlack, Lenz, Holtmann, Wätjen, Onyeka, Bero - P. Hofmann Coach: Dieter Hecking Münster: Schenk - ter Horst, Heuer, Jaeckel, Bolay - Preißinger, M. Schulz, Hendrix, Mees - Amenyido, Batista Meier Coach: Alexander Ende Referee: Felix Prigan #Bundesliga #SportschauBundesliga
