Founded in March 1995, Pang Donglai (also known as Yu Donglai) encompasses specialty department stores, electronics, supermarkets, and more. Pang Donglai is known for its excellent service, exceptional employee care, and popular products, earning it the nickname "anomaly" in China's retail industry. Pang Donglai also helped restructure Bubugao Supermarket's Meixi Lake store in Changsha and Yonghui Supermarket's Xinwan Plaza store in Zhengzhou, introducing a large number of Pang Donglai's own brand products, significantly increasing employee salaries, shortening work hours, and increasing rest days. Pang Donglai has become a model for other major supermarket chains, including Zhongbai Group and Yonghui Supermarket. On February 23, 2025, Pang Donglai founder Yu Donglai announced that Pang Donglai would expand into Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province. Founded in 1995, it is headquartered in Fuzhou, Fujian. Its first branch opened in 1995 in Fuzhou's Gulou District. As of December 3, 2024, Yonghui Supermarket had 1,288 stores in operation, totaling 8.0176 million square meters. The stores are located in 585 cities across 29 provinces and municipalities.
