I Found This IMPRESSIVE 3-Manual Pipe Organ in Scarborough!

In this episode of Organic Visitations, I visit Scarborough in North Yorkshire to explore and demonstrate a huge three-manual tubular pneumatic pipe organ at Queen Street Methodist Church. Despite the heat — high temperatures make me a bit grumpy — I somehow managed to record this entire Organic Visitation without swearing! Time was fairly limited, as I had managed to disturb the organ tuner, but hopefully I still managed to cover most of the instrument and give you a good idea of what this fascinating old organ has to offer. Built around 1903, the organ is now showing its age and, to be fair, needs a considerable amount of work. The tubular pneumatic action is tired and not quite as responsive as I would have hoped, although the pipework itself remains in reasonable condition considering its age. Thankfully, the organ receives three tunings a year, carried out by independent organ tuner Graham Smales of York. I’ll leave you to watch the video for more information about the instrument, but it really was a pleasure to be back in Scarborough. I’m extremely grateful to Graham and the people of Queen Street Methodist Church for allowing me access to the organ and giving me permission to record this video. Enjoy the organ! 🎹 NPOR LINK: https://npor.org.uk/survey/R00764 ☕ BUY ME A COFFEE: buymeacoffee.com/Organicvisitations 📧 EMAIL: [email protected] 📘 FACEBOOK: Organic Visitations 📸 INSTAGRAM: @organicvisitations PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, COMMENT, LIKE AND SHARE!
