Hullo! I spent two days in Singapore for the first time, and like the hotel staff remarked, "so short!" I walked around so much in the humidity, winding through malls and the Jurassic garden in Gardens by the Bay, trying Singaporean food like Hainanese Chicken Rice and Kaya Toast with eggs, as well as unlocking a new South Indian food in little India called appam chatti. Singapore was easier linguistically since I spoke English and Mandarin, so it was a good opportunity to start practicing my casual Mandarin. The buildings were so tall and had some interesting nature-embeddings in the skyscrapers, the malls were huge and all-encompassing (with much-needed AC), and there was considerable doubling-back and spinning in circles on Google Maps given all the underground walkways and construction.
