Experience The MOST ICONIC Climb In North America | The Nose Yosemite El Cap [4K]
On May 11th, 2026 Bryce Ungersma and Kyle Broxterman (myself), set out to climb The Nose of El Cap in Yosemite, CA. Towering 3000' over the valley floor this iconic climb offer 31 pitches of superb climbing up the center of the wall with mega classic highlights such as "The Stovelegs", "The King Swing", "The Great Roof", and "Changing Corners". This was Bryce's second time tackling this objective big wall style, and my first. This was also my second big wall; having completed The RNWF of Half Dome car to car in 22hrs the summer prior. I only felt comfortable going after this route without more experience because of Bryce and my ability to lean on him to clarify systems, route finding, and mid route technical questions. We had great weather conditions, albiet a little hot the first day. We found two bigwall parties directly ahead of us at Sickle and paced them for the rest of the climb. The only log jam that happened was on Day 3 when 4 NIAD parties cruised through all three big wall parties around the King Swing. We brought one haul bag and 1 portaledge, leaving myself to sleep on natural bivy ledges. We brought the perfect amount of water at 4L per person per day and way too much food. We touched the tree at the top of the route at 11:03pm on Thursday May 14th after a smooth and uncomplicated ascent. I lead 17 of the 31 pitches. This route completely redefined what the word climbing means to me and how I am going to be interacting with the sport moving forward. If you are even halfway thinking about choosing this an an objective in your life...do the homework, get the practice in, find the right partner and GO FOR IT! #yosemite #climbing #rockclimbing #extremesports #hiking 00:05:37 - Day 2 [Sickle Ledge to Dolt Tower] 00:11:17 - Day 3 [Dolt Tower to Camp IV] 00:28:43 - The Boot Flake 00:35:21 - The King Swing 00:44:49 - Day 4 [Camp IV - Summit] 00:55:58 - Changing Corners 01:08:19 - Final Push To The Top 01:22:23 - Walk Off Thanks to our sponsors!
