Cycling NYCs Hudson River Greenway. Sun, beer & baffled by NYPD.

Day 4 in NYC kicked off with an epic hotel breakfast that left us feeling more full than functional, but we powered through. Undeterred, we gathered our trusty Brompton bikes and made our way out of the chaotic city centre, cycling along the serene Hudson River Greenway like mildly bloated gazelles. Our first stop was Pier 86, to see USS Intrepid, followed by Pier 57 for a cold beer and some stunning views. We continued to Little Island, only to find it closed, crushing our dreams of sneaking our bikes onto the island in their dimpa bags. We drowned our sorrows with more treats at Chelsea Market before trying to join the Pride Parade, only to be blocked by a whole lot of NYPD road closures. As a reward, we ended the day at the Irving Lounge, a rooftop cocktail bar in our hotel, where we nibbled on snacks, sipped one too many cocktails, and watched the glittering city lights fade into the night. We may have had one cocktail too many, but hey, it's New York, and tomorrow is another day... probably with hangover cure in hand.
