This type of application can be found a lot in load transfer between generator and utility, and to do this type of locking, you will use the NC contacts of each contactor, which are the normally closed contacts, and this interlocking can be in two formats, it can be electrical, or mechanical. The electrical one will use the NC contacts as I already said, and the mechanical one will require an accessory, which is a piece that goes between the two contactors that need to be interlocked. With the installation of this piece, the contactors are mechanically interconnected, so that whichever one is activated, blocks the other.
