We Didn't Give Up! Bringing Our Farm Back to Life!

After last week's major failures, we are spending this weekend course correcting and "righting" some of our wrongs. In this episode, we check in on our summer crops and try to set them up for success. We share what we've learned about some new-to-us crops we've planted, prune our tomatoes and peppers, and pick our first cilantro. We also build a third potato tower, set up our watering system, and transplant more seedlings: corn, green beans, peanuts, carrots, and potatoes. Along the day, we dive into fun facts about perilla leaves, cowboy hats, how much seasonal workers get paid, and reflect on this 5-do 2-chon lifestyle. ⏰ Video Chapters 00:00 Returning to the Farm: Weekend Update 00:32 Summer Crop Inspection & Updates 03:00 How to Prune Tomato Plants 04:20 Catching Up with Our Rural Korean Neighbors 05:00 Growing Peanuts: Progress Update 05:45 Miracle Sweet Potatoes: Coming Back to Life 06:02 Planting New Emerald Green Arborvitae 07:30 Fun Facts About Perilla Leaves (Kkaennip + Shiso) 07:58 Privacy Screen Vision for Our Emerald Greens 08:40 Small-Scale Corn Farming Progress 09:24 Our Porch Seedling Shop 09:42 Quick Snack Break 10:05 Transplanting Corn Seedlings into the Field 10:29 Not Three, But Two Sisters 10:55 Cowboy Hats for Sun Protection 11:11 Planting Extra Green Bean Seedlings 11:35 Transplanting Peanut Seedlings 12:48 Planting Potato Seedlings 13:17 Using Pine Needles as Natural Garden Mulch 13:57 Setting Up a DIY Farm Watering System 14:12 Taking a Short Rest Break 15:00 Building a Third DIY Potato Tower 15:37 Planting Carrot Seedlings 16:30 Tying Up and Supporting Tomato Plants 16:59 Defining Our Final Farm Plans for the Day 17:17 Tying Up and Staking Pepper Plants 17:29 Harvesting Fresh Cilantro from the Garden 17:45 Fermenting Natural Liquid Fertilizer (Weed Juice) 18:27 Weekly Recap & Honest Reflections on Farming Grit 🌱 Support the Journey If you enjoy this farming journey, rural living in Korea, and DIY farm projects, please give this video a 👍 and leave us a comment!
