【余呉湖一周『余呉イチ』 縦走登山】賤ヶ岳など全8座を周回縦走！砦あり、陣場あり、お墓ありと賤ヶ岳の戦いに関する見所がいっぱい　2024年11月

Shizugatake and 8 other peaks (Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture) I've climbed Shizugatake three times in the past, but I've yet to complete the "Yogo Ichi" circumnavigation of Lake Yogo. This time, I'll be challenging myself to complete a circular traverse of all eight peaks: three unclimbed peaks north of Lake Yogo: Mt. Dogi, Mt. Shinmei, and Mt. Akiba, as well as five peaks around Lake Yogo I've previously climbed: Mt. Ohira, Mt. Kohoji, Mt. Shizugatake, Mt. Oiwa, and Mt. Iwasaki! I parked my car in the Lake Yogo Tourist Center parking lot and set off on my circumnavigation of Lake Yogo! First, I headed north to tackle the three unclimbed peaks north of Lake Yogo. I started my climb from the trailheads at Mt. Dogi and Mt. Shinmei, then summited Mt. Dogi and then Mt. Shinmei. By the way, the forts on these two peaks were apparently built by Hashiba Hideyoshi to prevent Shibata Katsuie's advance northward during the Battle of Shizugatake. After summiting the third remaining peak, Mt. Akiba, we headed to the mountains we'd previously climbed. I've previously traversed Mt. Ohira and Mt. Kohoji from Shizugatake, but this time I'll do the opposite: climb Mt. Ohira and Mt. Kohoji from Gongen Pass, in that order. From Mt. Kohoji, we descend to the pass and then climb back up to Shizugatake. At last, views of Lake Biwa and Lake Yogo open up before our eyes! Even though it's said to be the best peak in Yogo, there was no view of Lake Yogo at all until we reached Shizugatake! lol The summit of Shizugatake has a great view and plenty of benches and tables, so we decided to have lunch and snacks there. Lunch and snacks taste even better when eaten from a place with a great view! After a good rest at Shizugatake, we started our descent. We started from the direction of Mt. Oiwa. Just before Mt. Oiwa, there were historical sites from the Battle of Shizugatake, such as Sarugaba and Kubiarai Pond, which were really nice. After that, we descended via Mt. Oiwa and Mt. Iwasaki. Just before reaching the parking lot after descending, we were able to see Lake Yogo again, but even though we went all the way around the lake, I didn't manage to take any photos of it, lol.
