Tribute to 50 Years of Sesame Street
#ThisIsMyStreet #Sesame50 #SesameStreet 50 years ago, on November 10, 1969, a show began that was very unlikely to make it past the first season, but from then on it continued to grow bigger and bigger and soon it surpassed decades! This show has a variety of edutainment that's enjoyable for all the children, from Muppets to cartoon segments to songs and many more. That show is none other than Sesame Street, the beloved PBS children's television series that has held the title as the longest running kids show in the world. Like many other long-running shows, Sesame Street became such a huge global phenomenon that it's hard to imagine people who DON'T know what Sesame Street is (let alone how to get there, lol). I have grown up with Sesame Street all throughout my childhood and I'm very surprised and amazed that it has lasted for so long and it's STILL going strong! Not so many shows have the pleasure of lasting 50 years, or at the very least 20 years. There are so many Sesame Street moments in my life that I love and so many Sesame Street things, too; the characters (Elmo, Grover, Kermit, The Count, Cookie Monster, Abby, Zoe, Rosita, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Snuffy, Oscar, etc), the songs (C is for Cookie, Batty Bat, Rubber Duckie, Sing, What's The Name of That Song?, etc), the episodes, the humor, the lessons, the celebrities (and believe me, there's a LOT of celebrities), and so much more! Sesame Street has known to tackle difficult topics such as death, divorce, hunger, incarceration, homelessness, hurricanes, autism, and addiction very well. They didn't have to sugarcoat it for children, they just explained it in the best way that both kids and adults can understand. It's wonderful to look back on Sesame Street and how much of an impact it has made on generation upon generation of young children, and I'm happy to be among the many kids that grew up with Sesame Street, one way or another. Here's to 50 Years of monsters, birds, snuffleupaguses, magical fairies, grouches, vampires, friendly neighbors, letters, numbers, songs, and many more Sunny Days! Happy 50th Anniversary, Sesame Street! I'm happy to call this the Street I live on. =) Subscribe for more randomness: ( / @babylambcreations ) New to Baby Lamb Creations?
