Berner le cerveau pour traiter les troubles d'anxiété: Stephane Bouchard at TEDxGatineau
Stéphane Bouchard holds the Canada Research Chair in Clinical Cyberpsychology at the University of Quebec in Outaouais, where he studies the effectiveness of virtual reality in treating anxiety disorders. He is particularly interested in determining whether individuals with anxiety disorders can modify the mental representations stored in their memory, which could lead to the development of more effective psychotherapeutic treatments. Mr. Bouchard has already demonstrated that telepsychology is an effective treatment for agoraphobia and panic disorder. He is now examining the potential effectiveness of remote programs, such as videoconferencing, for anxiety disorders. His work will contribute to a better understanding of the factors influencing therapeutic processes in cyberpsychology, reduce the costs of virtual environments dedicated to therapeutic purposes, and make virtual treatments accessible to a wider range of people. Stéphane Bouchard is also a well-known speaker and passionate about his work (see the show Les Visionnaires on Radio-Canada), social activities and his family life with his three children. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
