We head to Lake Salagou to discover this Cube 2026 electric mountain bike model. Let's go! Stéphane introduces me to this Cube Stereo Hybrid One77 Action Team 2026 electric mountain bike, with the iconic white and blue colors of the Action Team range. This bike is clearly aimed at committed mountain bikers for enduro and all-mountain riding, with 160 to 170 mm of travel and a mullet setup: 29 inches at the front and 27.5 inches at the rear to combine stability and agility. The front frame is made of carbon fiber and powered by the Bosch CX Gen5 (BDU38) motor with a removable 800 Wh battery. The suspension components are top-of-the-line: a Fox 38 Factory fork, a Fox Transfer Factory seatpost, and a Fox Float X2 Factory shock with high/low-speed compression and rebound damping adjustments. You can adjust the pressure and modify the tokens to fine-tune the progression and fine-tune the bike's handling. Braking is handled by the new Shimano XT 8220 brakes paired with Bosch ABS on the front wheel. A dedicated sensor analyzes the front wheel speed and works with the motor to prevent wheel lock-up. Two modes are available, depending on whether or not you want to include the rear wheel's behavior in the calculations. The system remains very smooth and surprisingly effective on descents and slippery terrain. The new shifters offer precise mechanical feel and allow for micro-adjustments while riding, without using the app. Stéphane rides with his own wheels, but the Cube One77 AT e-MTB comes standard with Newmen Beskar 30 wheels, fitted with Schwalbe Radial tires, which offer improved traction and comfort thanks to their casing oriented in the direction of travel. The Bosch CX Gen5 motor delivers 85 Nm of torque by default, but can be upgraded to 100 Nm via the Flow app. The fully customizable Kiox 400 display shows navigation, ABS settings, statistics, recent rides, and allows the use of GPX tracks. The bike also integrates Bosch security features with a digital locking system via smartphone. On the trail, the bike is impressive: the ABS provides real control on slippery sections, the mullet setup makes the rear end responsive, the Fox 38 fork offers crisp precision compared to a 34mm fork, and the Race Face carbon cockpit effectively dampens vibrations. The Di2 shifting is instantaneous, even under load, and the micro-adjustments make riding incredibly easy. In terms of maintenance, a well-maintained e-MTB can last a very long time. The battery can last between 20,000 and 40,000 km, and component wear remains comparable to that of a traditional mountain bike, even though the drivetrain works harder at higher motor power outputs.
